PDO Thread Lift

PDO threads offer a safe and effective means to regenerate the skin. The PDO threads use the body’s own healing ability to regenerate from the dermis layer.

  • Non-invasive procedure to regenerate the skin by creating new collagen

  • Increases the elasticity and firmness of the skin

  • Creates a matrix and structure for the whole face

  • Improves the texture of the skin

  • Tightens and Lifts

  • Utilises Lipolysis (fat cell death)

Ideal for contouring, sculpting, and lifting. Perfect for defining the jaw line to create a younger look.

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are a special medical grade thread that is thinner than hair, made of protein. Research has confirmed that PDO relaxes tendons and muscles, whilst a foreign body reaction improves the blood flow to the area stimulating neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen in the skin).

Can you feel the PDO threads?

When a thread lift uses the highest quality threads and is performed correctly, you should not be able to see or feel          the threads after the procedure. With the new dissolvable sutures, even if the threads are placed more superficially          so you can feel them, it will only be temporary.

  • Can the threads break?

PDO threads are completely absorbable, on average it takes 3 months. Threads may break when there is excessive facial muscle movement. You need not be overly concerned as even if the thread breaks, it still stimulates neocollagenesis to help tighten your skin. The pull will settle with time, so do not worry.

  • Will the PDO procedure be painful?

Thread correction refers to low-traumatic methods and is considered a relatively painless procedure. However, even a small puncture requires local anesthesia.

The initial discomfort is expected to settle within 2 weeks. For up to a week after the procedure it may feel tender               around the sutures. If necessary, you can take some simple paracetamol to help with this although most patients               do not bother with this step.

  • How is the PDO Thread Lift being done?

The PDO threads are inserted via blunt tip needles, called cannulas, or sharp-tipped needles. Once inserted into the appropriate layer of skin, they act as anchors as the skin is lifted upwards. Then, the excess threads are cut off.

  • How long do PDO Threads take to work?

Patients will notice full results around three weeks post-procedure. During this three week span, the skin has repositioned and collagen has flooded the area as it is the body's natural "injury" response.

  • What results should I expect after this procedure?

Most of our clients find that their results improve for six weeks after treatment. Of course, this regards the skin                       rejuvenation effects. The skin lifting effects are fully visible immediately. Between six and nine months after your                 treatment, your threads will slowly begin to dissolve.

  • What should I avoid doing after the PDO Thread treatment?

To ensure the best results, there are several things you must avoid after a PDO thread lift. These include sleeping               on your stomach or side, wearing makeup, drinking alcohol, making extreme facial expressions, and receiving                     facials and facial massages.

Unfortunately, you must avoid exercising for seven days after your treatment. You can still walk at a moderate                     pace. However, you must avoid performing vigorous cardiovascular exercise or resistance training.

  • How long does a PDO Thread Lift treatment last?

A thread lift is not permanent. A facelift can't stop the process of aging completely, but the results last many years.           The subtle results of a thread lift usually last around 2 years.
