PRP - Vampire Therapy

A vampire facial or PRP (platelet-rich-plasma) treatment is a procedure that aims to use a patient’s blood to trick the body into healing and repair. The blood is extracted and then undergoes a spinning process to separate the plasma, which is injected back by puncturing the skin using a micro-needle.

A vampire facial triggers collagen production. Collagen is the latticework of the face, so a PRP Vampire facial helps tighten, smooth and improve skin tone.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does it work?

The technician first spreads plasma on your face and then uses micro needling across your cheeks and forehead to help your face absorb the proteins.

Micro needling is exactly what it sounds like — a procedure that creates a series of tiny, superficial punctures using          sterile needles.

Both PRP and micro needling stimulate collagen growth, and are more effective when done together. We attack                the problem in two layers: beneath the skin and on top of it.

  • Before the PRP Vampire Facial treatment

Everyone’s skin is different, so our therapist will take great care to tailor your treatment to your needs.

Avoid any blood thinners at least a few days before your appointment: aspirin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Omega-3, Ginkgo               Biloba, etc. Trust your skin only to the top industry experts to ensure beautiful results.

  • What to expect during the PRP treatment?

First, we use a numbing cream on the patient’s face. Then, we draw blood from the patient’s arm and run it through a centrifuge to create PRP. Once the patient’s face is numb, we begin microneedling, which is a technique that involves puncturing the skin with several tiny needles. The needling process is often combined with microdermabrasion to remove dead and dry skin on the surface. After microneedling, PRP is applied to the surface of the face. The PRP absorbs into the tiny pinprick holes that the microneedling has created. Altogether, this process makes up the vampire facial and stimulates collagen growth that will have you looking years younger.

While Vampire Facials are a very effective treatment, unfortunately they cannot do exactly what plastic surgery                  can. A Vampire Facial helps with skin complexion, etched in wrinkles and lines, melasma, acne, and acne scarring.

  • How many treatments are needed?

The effects of the procedure improve for 2 to 3 months and last for at least 1 to 2 years! The multipotent stem cells            then develop into new collagen, new blood vessels, and new fatty tissue trying to “repair” the skin that was never                injured!

  • Facts

The PRP Vampire facial procedure is safe for almost everyone, except for those with clotting conditions that require          blood thinners or those with other blood-related health issues.

It can help smooth wrinkles and scarring. Unlike many dermal fillers, the Vampire Facial isn’t just a filler. Instead of             simply adding volume to plump up a problem area (as most fillers do), the Vampire Facial helps restore facial                       shape, as well as improve skin tone and texture. Healing platelets in the plasma actually rejuvenate and restore                   damaged skin and tissues, helping to smooth wrinkles and erase scarring.

It promotes new cell development. The procedure uses your body’s own blood, separating out plasma and its                       healing platelets to stimulate new cell growth. Essentially, the plasma injection tricks the body into thinking it’s                     been injured, which stimulates the release of stem cells. These stem cells get to work creating new, fresh tissue                   that is full of collagen, new blood vessels, and new cells. This all leads to a fresher, younger look.

It began as an orthopedic procedure. The Vampire Facial was first introduced over 30 years ago for use after                       orthopedic surgery. Known as Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy, the procedure was used to boost healing by forcing               platelets into the damaged area. Platelets are important for clotting, which stimulates enzymes that help heal and             play a role in tissue regeneration.

It’s one of the most natural dermal filler procedures available. Many dermal fillers are made from synthetic                             materials to form a gel that sits under the skin, filling in lines and wrinkles. The gel is slowly absorbed by the body                 and repeat injections are needed to maintain the look. A Vampire Facial, by contrast, stimulates the body to create           fresh collagen and tissues for longer lasting results. Many times, a single injection is enough to produce the desired           result.

It’s a better choice for sensitive skin. The Vampire Facial uses your own blood, stimulates new tissue and cell                         growth, and requires no invasive procedures, skin ablation, or resurfacing making it a better choice for individuals             with sensitive skin or those concerned about reacting to synthetic fillers.

  • Treatment Overview

        PROCEDURE TIME

        Between – 1 hour – 2 hours

        DOWNTIME

five to seven days of redness or downtime

        DURATION OF RESULTS

As part of a healthy lifestyle it is down to your skin type. However, we recommend 6 treatments for the ultimately                  best results.

        RESULTS

You should start to see results within a week. After 1 or 2 months, you should see rejuvenated skin that appears                   younger and feels softer and more supple. Results may remain from 1 to 2 years following your treatment.

  • Does the procedure hurt?

Good news— the PRP procedure is virtually painless. Most patients report only feeling an initial needle pinch.                      Sometimes patients may experience mild pain after the numbing cream has been applied, but the tenderness is                usually confined to more sensitive areas like the mouth. It’s important to remember that pain tolerance varies from            person to person, and vampire facials may be more uncomfortable for some patients.

  • When will I see the results?

After a vampire facial, you may start seeing results right away. In most cases, patients notice the most                                    improvement up to three weeks after the PRP treatment. Others may wait up to six months to see the full results of            the vampire facial. However, it’s important to remember that although these results can be long-lasting, they aren’t          permanent. Many patients elect to schedule multiple treatments to achieve the best outcome.

  • Why is the procedure generally called a Vampire Facial?

Vampires are big in entertainment and pop culture, and the procedure does deal with your blood. In the office, we               refer to the procedure as PRP, which is the medical reference to the procedure, which stands for Platelet Rich                     Plasma.
